The winners of the Kentucky Press Association’s Advertising Excellence in Kentucky Newspapers Contest were announced during an awards luncheon May 18 in Louisville.

The first-place general excellence winners are Todd County Standard, McCreary County Voice, Springfield Sun, Jessamine Journal, The Kentucky Standard, Appalachian News Express, The Gleaner, Lexington Herald-Leader and Murray State News.

Other winners include Trimble Banner, Kentucky Mountain News, Cadiz Record, Edmonton Herald News, Cynthiana Democrat, Leitchfield Record, Sentinel News, Central Kentucky News Journal, Times-Tribune, Murray Ledger & Times, Advocate Messenger, Kentucky New Era, Messenger Inquirer, Kentucky Inquirer, College Heights Herald, and Fort Campbell Courier.

Members of the West Virginia Press Association judged the competition last month.
