Excellence in Kentucky Newspapers awards announced during KPA Convention

LOUISVILLE ­ General Excellence winners were announced during the Kentucky Press Association’s Excellence in Kentucky Newspapers Contest during an awards banquet here on Jan. 21.

The top winners were McLean County News, Calhoun; Laurel News Journal, London; Anderson News, Lawrenceburg; Appalachian News-Express, Pikeville; The State Journal, Frankfort; The Gleaner, Henderson; The Lexington Herald-Leader; The Sunday Challenger, Covington and the Kentucky Kernel, University of Kentucky.
