The Shelbyville (TN) Times-Gazette, a six-day, 7,200 circulation newspaper, is accepting applications for the position of Circulation Director to perform marketing and customer service duties.

The circulation director manages sales and distribution of the Times-Gazette newspaper while maintaining a high level of customer service. This position is responsible for driving new sales growth while retaining existing customers.

The circulation director must: demonstrate effective time management, presentation and sales skills with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision; be organized with the ability to carry out detailed plans and multiple projects; and be able to work in a team environment and work effectively with all departments.

Previous marketing and/or customer service experience is preferred. The successful candidate should have excellent skills in leadership, strategic planning, communications, management and training. Strong computer skills are assumed. This position has oversite for customer service, circulation sales, marketing, staff and carrier training and reports directly to the general manager.

A valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance are required as well as the physical ability to lift and carry items up to 40 lbs. We offer a competitive salary plus performance bonuses. Benefits include 401(k), health, dental, life insurance and more.
