Skills and requirements: demonstrated experience with InDesign; a passion, energy and knack for local sports from golf to cross country and everything in between; column and feature writing; fast, accurate reporting and editing. Pluses: familiarity with audio and visual multimedia and willingness to learn more for an expanding online operation, and photography. The State Journal, published Sunday-Friday with a circulation of 8,000 -10,000, is in the capital of Kentucky and is one of the nation’s most beautiful. It’s also in Central Kentucky's bluegrass and horse country, the stuff of postcards and Hollywood movies. It’s convenient to metropolitan Cincinnati, Louisville, and Lexington, the three points on Kentucky's 'Golden Triangle.’ Two years daily newspaper work preferred but exceptional experience with a weekly will be considered.
