KPA Winter Convention - Ad Contest

LEXINGTON -- The Carrollton News-Democrat, Spencer Magnet, Lebanon Enterprise and Kentucky Standard in Bardstown, won General Excellence first place for their respective Weekly circulation divisions in the 2017 Kentucky Press Association Advertising Excellence in Kentucky Newspapers competition.

In the daily divisions, top General Excellence honors went to the Murray Ledger & Times, Elizabethtown News Enterprise, and Bowling Green Daily News. The College Heights Herald of Western Kentucky University won first place in the Student Publications Division.

The award were announced Thursday night during the opening day of the 2018 KPA Winter Convention at the Hilton Inn in Lexington.

Second place General Excellence honors went to the Greenup County News-Times, Springfield Sun, Central City Leader News, and Appalachian News Express in Pikeville for weekly newspapers. The Harlan Daily Enterprise, Frankfort State Journal and Ashland Daily Independent won second places for Daily newspapers. The Murray State News won second in Student Publications.

Taking third places were the Falmouth Outlook, Cynthiana Democrat, Salyersville Independent, Princeton Times Leader and Lexington Herald-Leader.
