As the statewide association that serves and advocates for Kentucky’s electric cooperative program, Kentucky Electric Cooperatives provides communications support for member co-ops, including publication of Kentucky Living and KentuckyLiving.com. The award-winning magazine enjoys the largest circulation of any publication in Kentucky, with about 472,000 issues mailed monthly. The communications staff serves as an on-call agency providing graphic design, editorial, photography, videography and crisis communications for member co-ops and the association.
Kentucky Electric Cooperatives is currently in search of a versatile Managing Editor to oversee production of Kentucky Living, including supervision of the magazine and a team of graphic designers. In addition to planning editorial, business and budget strategy, this role includes writing and editing responsibilities and collaboration with freelance contributors. The Managing Editor is the association’s key contact with the Kentucky Living printer and other key vendors to plan and execute production of the magazine and other projects. This role involves diverse project management, analysis and record-keeping.
Four years of experience in journalism, graphic design, membership organization communication or related fields is required. Communications management and supervisory experience are also required. The Managing Editor hire will join a talented and cohesive team that values accountability, communication, organization and time management.
