The LaRue County Herald News, located in Hodgenville, KY, is seeking a qualified applicant for the full-time position of reporter.

This position is responsible for all aspects of news gathering, reporting, feature writing, and photography for the newspaper.

The applicant must be dedicated to excelling at local coverage, identifying and producing stories, and coordinating content for the weekly paper and special sections.

Qualifications

Prior experience in newspaper is preferred but not required.

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Ability to produce content with minimal supervision

Available to work some nights and weekends to cover local events

Essential Functions

Develop and carry out plans for weekly content

Actively participate in community functions/events and maintain an open door to the community of readers and non-readers about newspaper coverage

Meet printing and publication deadlines on weekly basis
